PGP-Cloud Computing is a 6-month online program that includes online and live virtual classes. IT professionals not already working with cloud technologies will gain a solid foundation while those with some cloud experience will gain a more structured and hands-on understanding of cloud technologies, including issues such as migration, deployment, integration, platform choice, architecture and TCO. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a technology role which would include exposure to development, testing/quality assurance, maintenance, database administration and technology infrastructure management.

Selection Process

Interested candidates need to apply by filling a simple online application form. The Admissions committee will review all the applications and shortlisted candidates are required to attend a skype/telephonic interview with the Program Director for final selection.

Is the program online?

Yes, Great Lakes' Post Graduate Program in Cloud Computing is a 6-month program offered online with live virtual classes on weekends.

Are the live virtual sessions an audio-video combination or just the video-chat mix?

The live virtual sessions are a composition of audio-video. It is a two-way interaction between the learner and tutor.

What if I miss any live session?

Is Aws certification fee included?

No.  PGP-CC trains you for the AWS certification. You have to get it separately. You will be trained to clear AWS Certified with AWS Solutions Architect - Associate Certification and build strong foundation for other AWS certifications - SysOps and Developer

To what level of AWS certification level do I get prepared for?

The program focuses on a number of the relevant areas. We look at everything primarily from Architects' and DevOps perspectives. Of all the certifications, the Solutions Architect Associate will be a breeze after completing our program. You will also be well on your way to succeed in the Solutions Architect Professional certification.

On the DevOps front, you will learn a lot of things relevant to the DevOps certification, but will probably need a little bit more work because this is a Professional level certification. Finally, we don't exhaustively focus on SysOps or Developer topics, but you will learn enough (with a few additional topics) to get Associate level certification in these areas.

The Specialty Tier certifications are aimed at people who have practical experience in some of these areas (AFTER getting certified at an Associate and Professional level). Also, these are focused on just two areas – Networking and Big Data. So, this is not something you can reasonably expect to complete after this program. It'll require additional (focused) work in those areas.

Why should I not just get an AWS certification instead of PG in Cloud Computing?

Who is the faculty?

What is the extent of hands-on exposure? Are there any live projects?

The program includes various real-time projects and a detailed capstone project. You will analyze a real-world problem using a range of tools & techniques that you have learned in live classes. The duration of the capstone project is 2 months.

How does the virtual lab look like? Is it based more on the lines of AWS/Azure?
The virtual lab exposes you to the appropriate technology – a real-life environment, not a simulation. For instance, in the phases of the program where you’re working on AWS, you will have access to AWS and when you’re working on Azure, you will have access to the Azure platform.
Is the access to virtual lab available even beyond Sundays?
You will have defined lab timings that give you plenty of time to work on the lab, and then some. Even if you need time to review the week’s material, and then attempt the lab, you will have time to do so. Each week’s lab environment and appropriate configurations have to be set up to suit the scenario, so it is not ‘always on’.
What if I miss the Lab session?
You are expected to make necessary arrangements to attend all the class and lab sessions. If you miss a lab session, you will not have an opportunity to make up for the lab at a later time. As you can appreciate, this is logistically infeasible, as the class would’ve moved on to the next section.
Do I get any hard copies in terms of study material?

All the requisite learning material is provided online through the Learning Management System. Candidates are free to purchase any reference books or material as may be recommended by the faculty.

Is the content downloadable? How long is the Olympus access available even beyond 6 months?

No. The content is not downloadable. However, we believe that learning should be continuous and hence, all the learning material in terms of lectures and reading content would be available to you on the LMS even after the completion of the course.

How will I be evaluated during the Program?

PGP-CC is a holistic and rigorous Program and follows a continuous evaluation scheme. Candidates are evaluated in the courses they undergo through case studies, quizzes, assignments or project reports.

What kind of career assistance do I get?

You are provided career support through resume workshops and interview preparation sessions for cloud computing job roles. Relevant career opportunities with leading companies are also shared with you.

What is the program fee? Is loan facility available?

What is the application and selection process?

A panel of Great Lakes faculty evaluates all applications and therein, the shortlisted candidates are contacted for interviews.
