Classroom Learning
The program consists of 240 hours of classroom sessions delivered by Great Lakes faculty and industry professionals from the field of analytics. This ensures that the program imbibes Great Lakes’ academic elegance and Industry’s Business relevance, there providing the candidates a remarkable learning experience.
Learning Management System (LMS)
All candidates have an access to the online LMS that hosts content (classroom recording, online lectures, assignments, reading material) and live webinars to enable the candidates continue their learning during off campus. The LMS provides an innovative learning environment that encourages collaborative approach between the candidates thus paving the way for maximizing learning effectiveness and clarity.
Experiential Learning
This program is designed to transform candidates to business ready analytics professionals through hands on experiential learning on relevant tools. This is achieved through an experiential learning format wherein participants practice exercises and assignments on software packages such as R, SAS and Tableau. All candidates pursue an application oriented capstone project in the field of Business Analytics which is mentored and evaluated by faculty from Great Lakes or Industry.
Industry Perspective Lectures
This is a critical component of the program that complements and substantiates the learning with an applied orientation. The participants get the opportunity to listen to eminent speakers from leading analytics companies and assimilate the best practices discussed by them in their lectures.
Capstone Project
All candidates would be pursuing an industry project in the field of Business Analytics. The project is mentored and jointly evaluated by faculty from Great Lakes and Industry leaders. The project will be presented to the faculty board as part of the requirement for successful completion of the program.
Program Format
The total course comprises of about 340 hours of learning comprising 240 hours of classroom learning and 100 hours of online/ off classroom. At the Chennai Center, classes happen every alternate month for 5 days (which includes weekends and public holidays.) At the other centers, classes happen on one weekend (3 days / 2 days) every month.

Dr. Bala Balachandran
Founder, Dean and Professor - Great Lakes PhD (Carnegie Mellon), MS(Carnegie Mellon)
Professor Balachandran's is a recipient of the fourth highest civilian award of the Government of India - the Padmashri, which he was awarded in 2001 in recognition of his contribution towards higher education in India. He has been voted among the top 10 Global Thought Leaders in a recent article published by the Economic Times. Prof. Bala serves several Indian ministries in the advisory capacity. He also serves on the International advisory Board of the UniRazak at KualaLumpur and renders consulting/advisory services to the top brass of the Malaysian Government. His teaching interests include Managerial Accounting, Auditing, Management Information Systems, and Mathematical Programming.
Dr. Vaidy Jayaraman

Dr Jayaraman is an Associate Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the School of Business Administration, University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida. Prior to joining the University of Miami, he was an Assistant Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the School of Business Administration, Washington State University as well as an Assistant Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the School of Business Administration, University of Southern Mississippi.
Dr. Bappaditya Mukhopadyay
Professor, Great Lakes Institute of Management Ph D (Indian Statistical Institute)
In addition to being a Professor in Finance and Economics at Great Lakes, Professor Bappaditya is also a Visiting Professor, University of Ulm, Germany , SP Jain Centre for Management, Singapore and Dubai and IIM Kolkata. Dr. P K Vishwanathan
Professor, Great Lakes Institute of Management Ph D
Dr. P. K. Viswanathan is currently a Professor in the area of Operations at Great Lakes Institute of Management. Apart from executing corporate consultancy assignments, he has designed and conducted training Programs for many leading organizations in India. After completing his Masters from Madras University, he went on to do an MBA from FMS, Delhi and MS from Manitoba, Canada. He holds a PhD from Madras University.

S. Bharadhwaj is the Dr. Bala V. Balachandran & Vasantha Balachandran Chair Professor of Marketing. Prior to joining Great Lakes, he worked at Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras and Nanyang Business School, Singapore. Dr. S. Bharadhwaj holds a PhD in Marketing from the Robert Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park, USA.
Dr. R.L.Shankar
Professor of Finance at Great Lakes
Dr. R.L.Shankar is currently a Professor of Finance at Great Lakes. He has done B.Tech from IIT Madras and MS in computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. He has completed his PhD in Finance from EdHEC Singapore. Prior to joining Great Lakes, Dr. Shankar was heading the Centre for Advanced Financial Studies at IFMR. He was also the Program Director for the niche two-year Financial Engineering program offered by IFMR.
Dr. Kavi Mahesh
Dean of Computing and Decision Sciences at Great Lakes International University
Dr. Kavi Mahesh is the Dean of Computing and Decision Sciences at Great Lakes International University. Earlier he was the Dean of Research at PES University, Director of the Centre for Knowledge Analytics and Ontological Engineering – KAnOE and a Professor of Computer Science till recently. His areas of interest are knowledge management, analytics, semantics, epistemology, ontology, classification studies, text processing and unstructured data management.
Dr. Srabashi Basu

Dr. Basu is a Professor in the area of Analytics and Quantitative Methods at Great Lakes Institute of Management. She has worked and taught extensively in a range of analytics areas including health analytics, complex data analytics, predictive modelling and statistics. Dr. Basu has also been a faculty member at Indian Statistical Institute and University of Texas Health Science Centre, and has numerous publications to her name. DrBasu also does corporate trainings in the area of Analytics and her expertise areas include Big Data Analytics, Statistics, R and Data Mining.

Dr Sridhar is an Associate Professor in the area of Statistics and Business Analytics at Great Lakes Institute of Management. After starting his career with corporates, Dr. Sridhar pursued his academic interests and has been engaged with various institutes with a total of 10+ years of academic and research experience in USA, India and Dubai. Dr. Sridhar’s interests include Statistical Modeling, Econometrics and Quantitative techniques.
Prof. Sanjoy Sircar

Sanjoy Sircar is currently Professor of Finance at Great Lakes Institute of Management. He started his professional career as a Chartered Accountant with Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Assurance and Advisory. While pursuing his doctoral studies in the US, he entered the world of academia and was a faculty in the Finance area at the Fox School of Management, Temple University, Philadelphia and Rutgers, State University of New Jersey.
Prof. Easwar Krishna Iyer

Easwar Krishna Iyer is Associate Professor in Marketing. Prior to Great Lakes, he was Associate Professor at Amrita School of Business (ASB) and Vice Chair of the EMBA program jointly run by ASB and State University of New York, Buffalo. Prior to that, he has extensive research background in the Technology area with several international publications in journals as varied as Electronics Letters, Microwave & Optical Technology Letters and Applied Superconductivity.
Dr. Umashankar Venkatesh
Professor, PGPM PhD in Management
Dr. Umashankar is a Professor in Marketing at Great Lakes Institute of Management and is also the Director of the PGPM program at Great Lakes Gurgaon. He has close to 26 years of academic experience wherein he has helped setup several higher education institutes and his last assignment was with IMI Delhi as Professor and Area Chair of Marketing. Dr Umashankar has post graduate qualifications in management and economics and a PhD in Management.
Dr. Suresh Srinivasan

Dr. Mathew is a PhD from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), MBA – Marketing from BIT-Mesra, Ranchi, BA Economics from Lucknow University and brings with him 18 years of industry experience followed by 7 years of B-School academic experience.

Assistant Professor - Marketing, MMS (BITS, Pilani) FPM (XLRI, Jamshedpur.)
Has more than 20 years of work experience in some of the best Indian corporate houses including Reliance Industries Ltd., Indo Mobil Ltd and Ashok Leyland Ltd. He has extensive sales and marketing experience at operational and strategic level. Prior to joining Great Lakes, he was Associate Dean (Co-ordination) at Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), Bangalore, in addition to teaching core and elective courses in the area of Marketing.
