Stanford Advanced Computer Security Program is a 6-months online program. Learners take 6 courses as part of the program, one course per month, and must dedicate 6-8 hours per week to watch videos, participate in discussions, attend online mentorship sessions twice a month with Industry experts, and complete tests and hands-on projects to successfully complete the program. Courses are released at the beginning of each month and include quizzes and/or assessments at the conclusion. While the courses do not close, access to assignments is closed after the submission deadline.
No. This is an online program where all the six courses are mandatory to receive a Certificate of Achievement from Stanford Center for Professional Development. A course is introduced each month and the learner will be expected to watch the video lectures, complete the exercises/activities and take the mastery quiz at the end of each course to progress to the subsequent topic.
You need to complete all six courses successfully to receive a Certificate of Achievement from Stanford Center for Professional Development. You must have completed the quizzes and assessments with a passing grade in each to successfully complete this program.
No. this program will not have any team or group-based projects.
Yes, the program is designed for peer interactions through discussion boards and interactive mentorship sessions. Learners can engage with their mentors, peers and program managers throughout the program.
Learners will have access to the content for the entire 6 months, plus an added 6 months. A total of one year.
Upon successful completion of the program with commensurate performance on the assessments, you will earn 6 Continuing Education Units (CEU) – one for each course within the program. CEUs cannot be applied towards any Stanford degree.
No. This program is fully online, with periodic mentorship sessions with industry practitioners.
As part of the program, learners will attend live online interactive sessions with seasoned industry practitioners from the industry, who will clarify concepts and provide an industry perspective. These sessions are conducted in small groups, and are designed to be interactive. This is also an opportunity for learners to get some of their burning questions answered by these expert mentors.

This program covers a wide breadth of topics in cyber security to prepare you for the role of cyber security architect or consultant. So, as part of it, a course in writing secure code is also included for people with a programming background who want to become security engineers, but there are so many other courses in this program, such as, Network Security, Web Applications Security, Cloud Security and others which allow you to choose a different path in cyber security, such as, a security analyst, cloud security specialist, network security engineer, web applications security engineer, security architect or consultant.

By going through all the courses you will have a well-rounded understanding of cyber security which will prepare you for senior roles in this exciting field.
