In last assignment as CEO at USD 1 bn Zee Entertainment for New Initiatives, he is credited with creating the successful foray of Zee Entertainment in India and globally and spearheading their digital commerce foray. Earlier position held CEO - India & S Asia operations of USD 4 bn Digital and Publishing major Burda International, Germany.
Overall, Mr. Sharma has 24 years multifaceted experience across diverse industries– Consumer Durables, Technology, Consulting, Logistics, Media & Entertainment and e-Commerce. The last 15 years have been in CEO level top leadership positions reporting to CMD and/or Boards. He has been on the board of Indian companies and international JVs.
Mr Sharma is an international (World Tourism Forum, Istanbul, 2017) inspirational orator. He is invited to deliver keynote addresses at Industry Forums (GoaFest, 2017). He has 1500 plus twitter followers. He has been conferred the prestigious CNBC Young Turk Award, BTVi Rising Star award besides various other accolades and is an acknowledged voice of authority on global and Indian economy, media industry and e-commerce industry sought out by Indian and international media. He is a regular published columnist across top Indian and international newspapers and business journals viz Forbes, Business World, Digital Market Asia, Singapore, amongst others.
Mr Sharma is invited to various management institutes as visiting faculty and for academic industry interface interactions. He has now been associated with IIMs (he was invited to be a Tedx speaker at IIM Rohtak but had to give it a miss last year due to his hectic travel schedules; he has been approached to be the keynote speaker at IIM Indore 2017 for their Leadership Summit). He has also been a visiting faculty at MDI, Great Lakes, IMT Ghaziabad, Sauder School of Management, UBC, Vancouver, etc., There are instances in the past when he has worked with institute faculty to design programs/courses.
